E-scooter Rider, Police Officer Hospitalised After Buckingham Palace Collision
A police officer on foot and the rider of an e-scooter were taken to a major trauma centre after a collision outside Buckingham Palace. The incident occurred at approximately 16:00 BST on Friday at the eastern end of Constitution Hill.
Emergency services, including an ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and the London Air Ambulance dispatched via car, attended the scene. Both males received treatment before being transported to hospital.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the collision involved one of its officers. A spokesperson stated that the injuries sustained by both the e-scooter rider and the officer were assessed as non-life-threatening and non-life-changing.
Constitution Hill was cordoned off for several hours following the crash, with police maintaining the scene. The Royal Standard was not flying over Buckingham Palace at the time of the incident, indicating King Charles was not in residence.
