Hong Kong Police Arrest Five, Raid Independent Bookshops Over "Seditious" Publications
Hong Kong police have arrested three men and two women, aged 29 to 59, on suspicion of producing and distributing "seditious" publications. Raids targeted two independent bookshops, Mount Zero and Floating Bookstore, reportedly linked to the pro-democracy movement. Authorities claim the books incited hatred against the government and Beijing, violating a colonial-era sedition law increasingly deployed following the 2020 national security legislation.
