Gary Glitter, Paul Gadd, Faces New Historical Sex Offence Charges in Westminster Court

Paul Gadd, widely known as Gary Glitter, a musician previously convicted of numerous sex offences, faced fresh charges at Westminster Magistrates' Court. Gadd, appearing from HMP The Verne via video link, is accused of indecent assault and serious sexual assault, allegedly committed against a single female victim between 1977 and 1980.

These new allegations add to Gadd's extensive criminal history. He was previously convicted in the UK in 1999 for possessing child pornography and, following his release, was deported from Vietnam in 2006 after being found guilty of obscene acts with minors. His return to the UK saw him imprisoned again in 2015 for sexually abusing three young girls in the 1970s and 80s, receiving a 16-year sentence.

Gadd spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the brief hearing. The case has been adjourned, with the next appearance scheduled at Southwark Crown Court on 25 April.
