Russian Ballistic Missile Strike Kills Ten at Ukrainian Drone Exhibition Near Kyiv
A Russian ballistic missile strike on a drone exhibition near Kyiv has killed ten individuals and wounded others. The attack, which occurred in the middle of the day, targeted an event attended by prominent figures within the Ukrainian defence industry.
Ukrainian officials stated the facility in Chernihiv was hit by what appeared to be an Iskander ballistic missile. Among the dead were civilians, including a six-year-old child. The regional governor confirmed that many of the casualties were inside cars or crossing the road near the drama theatre where the exhibition was being held.
President Zelenskyy condemned the strike, highlighting the deliberate targeting of a public space. Russia has not yet commented on the incident. Ballistic missiles, such as the Iskander, are challenging to intercept due to their speed and trajectory, underscoring the ongoing vulnerability of Ukrainian cities to such attacks despite Western air defence provisions.
