Russian Missile and Drone Barrage Kills Three in Ukraine, Strikes Kyiv Market

Three people have been killed following a significant wave of Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine. The capital, Kyiv, experienced a particularly heavy assault, with firefighters battling a blaze at a market in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

Reports from Kyiv officials confirmed multiple explosions throughout the city, detailing damage to residential buildings, infrastructure, and commercial properties. Ukrainian air defences claimed to have intercepted a substantial number of incoming projectiles, including cruise missiles and Shahed drones, though debris caused widespread destruction.

Beyond Kyiv, strikes were also reported in several other Ukrainian regions, including Lviv and Kharkiv, where critical infrastructure and residential areas were targeted. These assaults align with a consistent pattern of Russian military operations seeking to degrade Ukrainian defensive capabilities and civilian morale.

Meanwhile, Moscow authorities stated that a warehouse on the city's outskirts was hit by a Ukrainian drone, prompting emergency service responses. This incident marks a continuation of reciprocal drone attacks that have increasingly characterised the conflict, reflecting an expanded operational reach by both sides.
