Tate Brothers Arrested in US Following UK Charges, Extradition Sought
Andrew and Tristan Tate have been arrested in the United States, following the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant by the UK. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that new charges have been authorised against the brothers, which reportedly include allegations of rape, human trafficking, and serious assault.
A spokesperson for the Tate brothers stated their arrests occurred at their residence in Romania, not the US as initially reported, and followed the issuance of UK warrants. Legal representatives for the Tates have vociferously denied the accusations, describing them as a “recycled witch hunt” and “slander”. They further asserted that the brothers are committed to “unequivocally demonstrating their innocence”.
This development marks the latest chapter in ongoing legal challenges for the Tates, who are currently facing separate charges in Romania related to human trafficking, rape, and forming an organised crime group to exploit women. They were released from house arrest in Romania in August 2023. The Romanian Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) indicated cooperation with UK authorities regarding the European Arrest Warrants.
