Ukrainian Agent Accused of Murdering Monaco Suspect Alters Account to German Police
A Ukrainian intelligence operative, facing charges for the murder of a woman connected to a Monaco bomb conspiracy, has reportedly altered his account to German investigators. The individual, identified by German prosecutors as a member of Ukraine's SBU security service, is accused of killing Anastasiia Berezovska, whose body was discovered in woodland near Berlin in April.
Initially, the suspect denied any acquaintance with Ms Berezovska. However, under subsequent questioning, he admitted to transporting her body and disposing of it. German authorities have not publicly revealed the full extent of his revised testimony.
Ms Berezovska had been a person of interest to French police in connection with a 2023 bomb plot targeting a prominent Ukrainian defector in Monaco. Details emerging from the German investigation indicate a potential link between her death and a broader pattern of Ukrainian security service operations within Europe. The German Public Prosecutor General's office is leading the murder inquiry, with a specific focus on the potential involvement of a second Ukrainian national.
