Zhenhao Zou: Life Sentence Rapist Faces Further Charges After 10 Convictions

Zhenhao Zou, convicted for the rape of ten women across London, is now anticipated to face a series of new charges. The 34-year-old was previously handed a life sentence with a minimum term of 17 years at Woolwich Crown Court.

Police Investigation Expands

The Metropolitan Police's investigation into Zou's activities has continued to uncover further evidence of sexual assaults. Detectives believe his pattern of offending, which primarily targeted women in residential areas, extends beyond the initial ten victims.

Zou's operational method involved approaching women from behind, covering their mouths, and dragging them into secluded areas before committing the assaults. The original convictions spanned offences committed between 2011 and 2018 in areas including Deptford, Greenwich, and Lewisham. His initial apprehension in November 2018 followed an extensive police operation.

A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that further charges are currently under consideration, with official proceedings expected to commence in due course. The ongoing case highlights the protracted nature of such investigations, even after a significant conviction has been secured.
