Arrests Made in Attempted Arson at Persian Media Offices
Three individuals have been arrested in connection with an attempted arson attack at the premises of a Persian language media organisation in Wembley, north-west London. The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 20:30 BST, when an ignited container was reportedly thrown towards the building.
Police stated there were no reported injuries or significant damage. Officers subsequently pursued a black SUV, leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy and two men, aged 19 and 21, on suspicion of arson endangering life. All three remain in police custody.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as an act of terrorism and is not currently believed to be linked to other recent arson attacks in north London. Despite this, detectives from Counter Terrorism Policing London are leading the investigation, with support from local officers.
The ignited container landed in a car park and the fire quickly self-extinguished. The SUV was then observed leaving the scene, leading to a police pursuit that concluded with a crash on Ballards Lane, where the arrests were made. A precautionary evacuation of nearby buildings was undertaken but quickly rescinded once police assured there was no wider public risk.
