Bellingham and Rogers Chips Mural in Dudley Vandalised With Offensive Graffiti
A public art installation honouring footballers Jude Bellingham and Tyler Rogers has been vandalised with offensive graffiti in Dudley. The mural, which portrays the Black Country natives enjoying the local delicacy of chips, was defaced with racist and homophobic slurs.
The artwork, located on the side of a building on the A461 Duncan Edwards Way, celebrates the two athletes from Stourbridge and Halesowen. The defacement follows a period of heightened scrutiny regarding hate speech in public spaces.
Reports indicate that local authorities are investigating the incident. This act of vandalism highlights ongoing issues surrounding intolerance within communities, particularly targeting figures of public prominence.
