British Man Vanishes in Lake Como After Teenager Rescued From Water

A British man has gone missing in Lake Como, northern Italy, following reports he dived into the water to rescue a teenager. The incident occurred on Friday, 14 June, near the town of Lezzeno, a popular tourist destination on the lake's eastern shore.

According to Italian emergency services, the 20-year-old British man, whose identity has not been publicly released, entered the lake after a 17-year-old boy encountered difficulty in the water. The teenager was subsequently rescued and transported to a local hospital for treatment, but the British man failed to resurface.

Local officials initiated a comprehensive search operation involving firefighters, divers, a helicopter, and maritime rescue units. The search has continued into Saturday, focusing on the area where the man was last seen. The UK Foreign Office has stated it is providing support to the man's family and liaising with Italian authorities.
