England Striker Ivan Toney Pleads Not Guilty to Soho Nightclub Assault Charge
Ivan Toney, the Brentford forward and England international, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating. The charge stems from an alleged incident at a Soho nightclub in central London on 12th January 2023.
Appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court, Toney, 28, formally entered his plea, denying the allegations against him. The court was informed that the footballer is accused of assaulting another man during the reported incident.
Toney, who was recently recalled to the England squad after an eight-month ban from football for breaching betting rules, is scheduled to return to court for a trial. The exact date for the trial has not yet been set, but proceedings will continue following his not guilty plea.
