Henry Nowak's Family Condemns 'Ludicrous' Appeal by Convicted Murderer Vickrum Digwa
Vickrum Digwa, sentenced to life imprisonment in 2022 for the murder of Henry Nowak, has launched an appeal against his conviction. Mr Nowak, 49, was tragically stabbed to death outside his home in Edmonton, north London, during September 2021.
Mr Nowak's family expressed their profound distress over Digwa's legal challenge, describing it as an attempt to evade accountability for a heinous crime. They conveyed their anguish, stating that the appeal forced them to relive the traumatic events and questioned the legitimacy of Digwa's grounds for appeal.
Digwa was ordered to serve a minimum of 23 years before being considered for parole. The Court of Appeal will now review the case, with a decision expected to follow later this year. The victim's family emphasised the lasting impact of their loss and the perpetrator's lack of remorse, arguing that the appeal only compounds their suffering.
