Metropolitan Police Investigate Two New Rape Allegations Against Russell Brand, Cases Total 12
Metropolitan Police detectives are now investigating two new rape complaints against Russell Brand. These recent allegations increase the total number of sexual offence claims against the comedian and actor to 12. Previously, police had been examining nine alleged sexual offences, ranging from assault to sexual assault and stalking, which were reported to them in September 2023.
The current investigation covers a period between 2006 and 2013, with incidents purportedly taking place across London. The initial nine allegations were reported following a joint media investigation by The Times, The Sunday Times, and Channel 4's Dispatches.
Commander Alex Murray stated that these new complaints were submitted directly to the police. He reaffirmed the Met's commitment to thoroughly analysing each complaint, emphasising the importance of treating victims with sensitivity and ensuring a comprehensive investigation. The police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Brand has consistently denied all accusations, stating that all his relationships were consensual.
