Six Passengers Feared Dead After Small Plane Vanishes Off US Florida Coast
All six individuals aboard a small private jet are now presumed dead after the aircraft went missing off the coast of Naples, Florida. The Bombardier Challenger 600 business jet lost contact with air traffic controllers shortly after departing from a regional airport, with flight data indicating a rapid and significant loss of altitude.
The plane had been en route to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, having previously originated from Ohio. Emergency services, including the Collier County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), confirmed the incident, with recovery operations initiated in the vicinity where the aircraft disappeared from radar.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those onboard. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has commenced an investigation into the cause of the sudden loss of communication and subsequent crash, which occurred in international waters.
