Starmer Defies Labour Critics, Wes Streeting Allies Anticipate Leadership Challenge
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer is resisting calls from within the Labour party to vacate Downing Street, as scrutiny intensifies following the party's recent electoral setbacks.
Sources close to Health Secretary Wes Streeting have indicated that a leadership challenge against Sir Keir could materialise as early as Thursday.
This internal dissent follows the resignations of four government officials earlier in the week, including Health Minister Zubir Ahmed, a known associate of Mr. Streeting. Numerous Labour Members of Parliament have publicly urged Sir Keir to step down in the wake of last week's disappointing election results.
