Swansea Au Vodka Seeks £500 Million Acquisition by BuzzBallz Parent Company
Au Vodka, the Welsh premium spirit brand, is reportedly exploring a £500 million acquisition by Prestige Beverage Group, the American company behind BuzzBallz cocktails. The potential sale would mark a significant moment for the Swansea-based distiller, which has expanded rapidly since its founding in 2015.
The company, co-founded by childhood friends Charlie Morgan and Jackson Quinn, has achieved substantial market penetration, distributing millions of bottles each year to over 40 countries. Morgan gained public recognition a decade ago following an incident involving Chelsea footballer Eden Hazard during a League Cup match.
Prestige Beverage Group, a major player in the US alcohol market, has been actively pursuing strategic acquisitions to bolster its portfolio. Their interest in Au Vodka underscores the brand's established presence and global distribution network, which includes a notable footprint in the United States.
Representatives for Au Vodka have declined to comment on the ongoing speculation, while Prestige Beverage Group has yet to issue a statement regarding the reported negotiations. A successful deal would consolidate a significant portion of the premium vodka market under Prestige's ownership and provide a substantial return for Au Vodka's founders and investors.
