Three Teenage Boys Sentenced For Filmed Rape of Two Girls in Fordingbridge
Three teenage boys have been sentenced following their convictions for raping two lone girls in separate incidents in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. Prosecutors confirmed that the assaults, occurring in 2024 and 2025, were “brazenly filmed” on mobile phones, with footage depicting the boys laughing and verbally encouraging each other during the attacks.
Court Proceedings and Sentences
Two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old boy were previously found guilty of rape after a trial at Southampton Crown Court. The two 15-year-olds received three-year Youth Rehabilitation Orders, which include intensive surveillance and supervision. The younger boy was given an 18-month probation supervision order.
Judge Nicholas Rowland informed the defendants, whose mothers reportedly wept, that “none of you need to go to prison today.” The judge commended the two girls for their courage in providing evidence.
Details of the Attacks
The first victim, aged 15, was subjected to three rapes in an underpass by the River Avon in Fordingbridge. She had travelled to meet one of the boys after establishing an online “relationship” via Snapchat, only for two other boys to appear. Court testimony described her as “petrified,” feeling “cornered and trapped,” and fearing she would be thrown into the river.
Footage of the attacks was subsequently shared on social media, leading to the victim receiving abusive messages. The second victim, aged 14, met the boys at Fordingbridge Recreation Ground, where she was threatened with a knife before being raped three times in a nearby field. Although no knife was recovered, forensic analysis confirmed her leggings had been cut with a “sharp instrument.” Video evidence presented in court showed her lying motionless, with another boy heard shouting encouragement.
At the time of the rapes, two of the boys were 14, and the third was 13. One 15-year-old was convicted of two counts of rape involving both victims, while the other 15-year-old was found guilty of six counts of involvement in the rape of both girls. The 14-year-old boy was convicted of two counts of rape in the second incident. Both 15-year-olds were also found guilty of taking indecent photos of a child.
The Crown Prosecution Service noted an “increase” in rapes and sexual assaults involving young people. Senior prosecutor Siobhan Blake emphasised the collective responsibility “to make sure that we have really clear conversations with our teens about misogynistic attitudes and push back really hard on those.”
