American missionary Kevin Rideout has been released after being kidnapped in Niger in October. A Christian organisation confirmed his release, stating that he is now with US officials.

Rideout was seized from outside his home in Niamey, the capital, on 20 October. Armed individuals reportedly entered his residence and forcibly removed him. The circumstances of his release, including any ransom paid or the identities of his captors, have not been publicly disclosed.
