
18-Year-Old Man Dies at Camber Sands Beach After Coastal Incident
An 18-year-old man has died after experiencing difficulties in the sea at Camber Sands beach in East Sussex. Sussex Police confirmed they were called to the scene at approximately 19:00 BST on Sunday, 23 June.
Emergency Response and Investigation
The alarm was raised when reports indicated a person was in distress in the water. Emergency services, including the Coastguard and ambulance crews, attended the incident. Despite immediate efforts, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police stated, "Emergency services were called to Camber Sands, near Rye, at around 7pm on Sunday, 23 June, to reports of a man in difficulty in the water. Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the man was confirmed deceased at the scene."
The circumstances surrounding the death are now under investigation, though police have indicated that it is not being treated as suspicious. Further details regarding the identity of the individual have not yet been released.
