Abandoned SUV Blocks Wales Coast Path Near Flint Castle
A recent incident has seen an SUV abandoned on the Wales Coast Path near Flint Castle, effectively blocking the popular route for walkers and cyclists. The vehicle, a silver Mitsubishi, was found wedged between a concrete fence post and a public bench, its tyres deflated and doors unlocked.
Local resident David Jones, who discovered the obstruction during his morning walk, reported the vehicle. "It was just left there, completely blocking the path," Jones stated. "No driver, no note, just an abandoned car right in the middle of a public right of way."
Flintshire County Council confirmed they have been notified of the vehicle and are coordinating its removal. The council stated that such incidents of vehicles obstructing public paths are infrequent but cause considerable inconvenience and necessitate resources for clearance. Enquiries are reportedly underway to identify the vehicle's owner and the circumstances of its abandonment.
