
British National Kidnapped in Malawi, Police Investigate Blantyre Abduction
A British national, identified as a mother of two, was forcibly taken from a vehicle in Blantyre, Malawi, on Thursday afternoon. The Malawian Police Service confirmed the abduction occurred in the city's commercial district.
Reports indicate the woman was in a car when it was intercepted by another vehicle. Individuals from the second vehicle then seized her before driving off in an unknown direction. The circumstances surrounding the abduction remain unclear.
Malawian authorities have commenced a full investigation into the incident. The British High Commission in Lilongwe has not yet issued a public statement regarding the matter, nor has the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office commented on the welfare of a British national abroad.
