Canva Slashes 1,000 Jobs, Forces Role Changes After Difficult Year
Graphic design software company Canva has announced substantial job cuts affecting over 1,000 staff members. CEO Melanie Perkins informed employees that these individuals would either be made redundant or compelled to change their current roles.
Perkins, in a statement to the workforce, characterised the preceding year as the organisation's 'hardest yet', underscoring the necessity of these restructuring measures. The decision reflects a recalibration of operations following a period of sustained challenges.
The Australian-headquartered firm, valued at $26bn, has grown rapidly since its inception in 2013, attracting millions of users globally. However, the current economic climate and market pressures have prompted this significant workforce adjustment.
