Chancellor Jeremy Hunt Joins Prime Minister Burnham at Leeds Downing Street Office
Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt has commenced working from the new Downing Street Northern office in Leeds, marking a further step in the government's commitment to decentralisation. He was pictured alongside Prime Minister Sarah Burnham on what was her first day operating from the northern hub.
The initiative sees the relocation of some ministerial functions outside of Westminster, with additional senior ministers anticipated to regularly work from the Leeds facility. This follows previous announcements regarding the establishment of a northern presence for key government operations.
