Cleveland Police Deploy Drones, Dispersal Order to Combat Redcar Beach Disturbances
Cleveland Police have introduced a dispersal order for Redcar beach, effective until 18:00 BST on Saturday, following documented instances of young people fighting and causing disturbances in the area.
Superintendent Fraser Wilson confirmed that officers would maintain a presence, supported by police drones, to monitor activity and ensure public safety along Majuba beach. The order encompasses a wide geographical area, including Majuba beach from South Gare to Marske-By-the-Sea, Coatham to Corporation Road, Redcar town centre from the beach to Lord Street, The Stray, and Locke Park.
Dispersal orders provide police with temporary powers to address and deter criminal activity and anti-social conduct in specific locations, allowing for the removal of individuals from designated zones.
