Dalston Soda Company Recalls Pineapple Cans Over Unexpected Rupture Risk
Dalston Soda Company, a premium fizzy drink brand, has initiated a recall of certain pineapple soda cans and four-can multipacks. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced the recall, warning that a packaging defect could lead to cans breaking apart unexpectedly, creating sharp edges and potential injury.
Disposal and Refunds
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are advised not to drink them and to dispose of them carefully. The company’s notice instructs customers to handle the cans minimally, place them upright in a sealed bag, and discard them with household waste. Returning the cans to retailers is discouraged.
Customers seeking a full refund can contact Dalston Soda Company directly, even without a receipt. The recall applies to single cans with batch code 037130 and multipacks with batch code 037129, all bearing a best-before date of 4 August 2027. No other Dalston's products are implicated in this recall.
This incident follows similar recalls in the carbonated beverage sector. In 2023, Jeremy Clarkson’s Hawkstone cider bottles were recalled due to reports of unexpected explosions. Craft ale producer Brew York also recalled cans of its Juice Forsyth IPA in 2024 over comparable safety concerns.
