Duke and Duchess of Sussex Accept UK Royal Residence Offer for September Visit
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to attend the One Young World Summit in Manchester and the WellChild Awards in London as part of their visit. Their attendance at the royal residence underscores ongoing, albeit limited, connections with the institution.
This arrangement follows the couple's relocation to the United States in 2020 and their subsequent stepping back from senior royal duties. Their Frogmore Cottage residence, previously offered to them by the late Queen, was relinquished earlier this year. The couple subsequently returned the keys to King Charles III, who then offered the property to the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.
The current offer of a royal residence for their September engagements suggests a maintained, albeit conditional, availability of institutional support for certain public-facing aspects of their UK visits. The details of the private accommodation they will also use remain undisclosed, allowing for continued scrutiny regarding the nature and extent of their future engagements within the UK and their relationship with the Royal Family.
