
Ellesmere Port Nursery Crash Seriously Injures Two-Year-Old, Police Arrest Driver
A car collided with a nursery playground in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, causing serious injury to a two-year-old boy. The incident occurred just before 09:55 BST at Partou Sunny Days Nursery and Pre-school on Vale Road in the Whitby area.
The two-year-old was struck directly by the vehicle and has been admitted to hospital for intensive treatment. Two additional children suffered minor injuries, reportedly from flying debris or fencing dislodged by the impact.
Police have apprehended a 63-year-old woman on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving. Officers, alongside the North West Ambulance Service, attended the scene, and families of the affected children have been informed.
Authorities confirm ongoing enquiries to ascertain the full circumstances of what they describe as an isolated incident.
Local MP Justin Madders expressed profound sadness, stating his thoughts were with the seriously injured child and their family, as well as the other children and nursery staff involved in the traumatic event.
