
Ellesmere Port Six-Year-Old Dies After Car Collision, Man Arrested for Drug Driving
A six-year-old boy has died after being hit by a car in Ellesmere Port. The incident occurred on Anchor Drive at approximately 11:40 BST on Sunday.
Cheshire Police stated the child was struck by a black Infiniti FX30D. He received treatment near Whitby Sports and Social Club before being transported to Countess of Chester Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A 48-year-old man was arrested following the collision. Charges include suspicion of drug driving, causing death by dangerous driving, and driving without a licence. He has since been released on bail.
Detective Sergeant Iain Condliffe appealed for witnesses, requesting anyone who saw the collision or possesses relevant video footage to come forward. He also sought information from those present when the child was treated near Whitby Sports and Social Club.
