Eugeniu Neamtu Jailed For Second Flatmate Murder in London
Eugeniu Neamtu, 36, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 26 years for the murder of his flatmate, Gheorghe Trica, at their home in London. The Old Bailey heard that Mr Trica, 48, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in September 2023.
Neamtu had completed a sentence for the manslaughter of another flatmate in July 2020. During that earlier incident, he stabbed his victim 18 times. The court was informed that Neamtu had a history of violent outbursts, often exacerbated by alcohol consumption.
Detective Inspector Kevin O'Boyle described Neamtu as a "very dangerous individual" due to his repeated acts of violence against those with whom he shared accommodation. The Metropolitan Police investigation established Neamtu's responsibility for Mr Trica's death, leading to his latest conviction.
