
Experienced Skydiver, 22, Dies in Perthshire Incident After Mid-Air Collision
A 22-year-old experienced skydiver has died following a mid-air collision with another participant near Errol Airfield in Perthshire. The woman, whose identity has not been publicly released, was pronounced dead at the scene after her body was located in a nearby field.
The incident occurred on Thursday, 16 May, and involved a collision between two skydivers during a descent. The second skydiver landed safely and was uninjured.
Police Scotland confirmed attendance at the scene after receiving reports of the incident. Investigations are currently underway to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the collision. Both the Police and the Health and Safety Executive have commenced inquiries.
Friends and colleagues at the local skydiving centre where the woman was based expressed profound sorrow at her death. They highlighted her extensive experience, noting she had completed more than 2,000 jumps and was a highly skilled and respected member of the community.
