Fatal Head-On Collision on M90 Claims Two Lives
A severe head-on collision on the M90, near Kinross, has resulted in the deaths of two men. The incident, which occurred late on Friday evening, involved a grey Ford Kuga and a white Vauxhall Corsa, leading to extensive closures on the motorway.
Police reports indicate that the Ford Kuga was observed travelling northbound in the southbound carriageway of the M90, close to junction seven, at approximately 22:30. Moments later, it collided with the Vauxhall Corsa, which was proceeding southbound as intended.
Both drivers, the 44-year-old man operating the Kuga and the 20-year-old man in the Corsa, were pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency services attended the site, and the M90 was subsequently closed for roughly 16 hours between junctions six and nine to facilitate a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The northbound carriageway also experienced a temporary closure overnight.
Chief Inspector Lyne Williamson conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased, stating, "An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances of the crash." Authorities have appealed for any witnesses who were on the M90 at the time of the incident to come forward with information.
