Fifteen Dead, Including Indian Nationals, After Speedboat Capsizes Off Vietnam Coast
A speedboat capsized off the coast of Hoi An, Vietnam, on Saturday, claiming the lives of fifteen people. The incident occurred near Cua Dai beach, a popular tourist destination, when the vessel encountered strong waves. Among the confirmed dead are several Indian nationals.
Local rescue operations, involving various emergency services, managed to pull twenty-one individuals from the water. Initial reports from Vietnamese state media indicated that the boat was travelling from Cham Island to Cua Dai beach when it overturned.
Reports suggest that adverse weather conditions, specifically large waves, contributed to the vessel's instability. An investigation into the precise cause of the accident is reportedly underway.
