Financier Chris Rokos Exits UK for Greece, Relocating Billions in Assets
Chris Rokos, the hedge fund manager ranked as the third-highest taxpayer in the UK by The Sunday Times, is reportedly relocating to Greece. Sources indicate that Rokos, whose firm manages $19 billion (£15.8 billion), plans to establish an office in Athens.
Rokos Capital Management has seen substantial profits recently, with Rokos himself reportedly earning over £500 million in 2022. This move signals a significant shift in his business and personal affairs away from the UK.
His departure comes after a period of considerable success for his London-based quantitative hedge fund, which specialises in macro trading strategies. The implications for the UK tax base, given his previous contributions, are yet to be fully assessed.
