John Neal, formerly the Chief Executive of the Lloyd's of London insurance market, engaged in a personal relationship with a subordinate that has been judged to breach the organisation's code of conduct. The disclosure was made public by Bruce Carnegie-Brown, the chairman of Lloyd's, who indicated that Mr. Neal's conduct had fallen "significantly below the standards expected of him" as a senior executive.

The chairman's statement outlined that the board had become aware of the relationship during 2023. Subsequently, an independent investigation was initiated to ascertain the facts and determine the extent of the breach.

Mr. Neal served as CEO of Lloyd's of London for five years before his departure. The company has stated it does not intend to pursue further action on the matter.
