Four Arrested After Thames Ship Crew Attacked, One Man Critical With Head Injury

Four men have been arrested following a brutal assault on three crew members aboard a ship docked in the Thames at Gravesend, Kent. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, has left one man in a critical condition with significant head trauma.

Kent Police confirmed that three of the arrested individuals, aged 18, 20, and 23, are being held on suspicion of attempted murder. A fourth man, 19, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. All remain in custody as enquiries continue.

The three victims, all identified as crew members of the vessel, sustained injuries during the attack. The most severely injured man received emergency treatment at the scene before being transported to a London hospital, where his condition is described as critical. The other two crew members sustained less serious injuries.

Officers were called to the scene shortly after 03:30 BST on Monday following reports of a disturbance on the vessel. The precise motive for the attack has not been released, but authorities are treating the incident as a hate crime.
