Friskney Woman Receives Indefinite Detention Order for Stabbing Two Boys
Chelmsford Crown Court has ordered the indefinite detention of Katie Louise Higginson, 31, under sections 37 and 41 of the Mental Health Act. Higginson pleaded guilty to two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident on 29 November 2022.
Emergency services responded to a flat on Sea Lane in Friskney after reports of two boys, aged 11 and 13 at the time, sustaining stab wounds. Lincolnshire Police, along with the East Midlands Ambulance Service, attended the scene. The boys received treatment for their injuries, which were later confirmed as not life-threatening.
Higginson was subsequently arrested at the property. The court's decision reflects the severe nature of the attack and the need for mental health intervention, ensuring her detention in a secure facility.
