Glasgow Teenagers Acquitted of Murder in Amen Teklay Sword Attack Death
Two teenagers have been acquitted of murder in connection with the death of 15-year-old Amen Teklay. The High Court in Glasgow delivered the verdict after hearing details of a confrontation in the city in March 2025, during which Mr Teklay suffered a fatal sword injury.
The accused, who were 14 and 15 years old at the time of the incident, cannot be named due to their age. They were alleged to have murdered Mr Teklay at a property on Ardencraig Street.
The court proceedings outlined the events leading to the fatal injury. The jury's decision means both individuals will not face charges for murder. This outcome concludes a trial that has drawn considerable attention to the circumstances surrounding the death of a young person in Glasgow.
