Green Party Leader Zack Polanski Demands Donald Trump Be Evicted From Scottish Golf Courses
Zack Polanski, co-leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, has publicly demanded that former US President Donald Trump be dispossessed of his two golf resorts in Scotland. Polanski, speaking in Glasgow, expressed a desire for Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeenshire and Trump Turnberry in South Ayrshire to transition into community ownership, alleging Trump had initiated "illegal and unpopular wars" during his presidency.
The comments were made during Polanski's visit to Glasgow to support Scottish Green candidates ahead of the Holyrood election. While characterising the stance as a personal opinion rather than official Green Party policy, Polanski asserted that the notion of a "special relationship" between the UK and the US under Trump "does not stand up to any scrutiny".
Trump International Scotland issued a swift rebuke, with Executive Vice President Sarah Malone dismissing Polanski's remarks as "frankly ludicrous and ignorant and made by a man who is an imbecile". Trump’s Aberdeenshire property, situated on the Menie Estate, features two 18-hole courses, with the New Course inaugurated by Trump himself during a 2023 visit to Scotland.
