Hasbro Confirms Cyber-Attack Affecting Operations
Hasbro, the multinational toy and entertainment corporation, has disclosed an unauthorised cyber-attack impacting its network. The company, which boasts an extensive portfolio including household names such as Play-Doh, Power Rangers, Nerf, and Dungeons & Dragons, filed a report with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) confirming the breach.
The cyber intrusion was identified on 28th March. While Hasbro has initiated measures to protect its systems and data, including taking some operations offline, parts of its and its brands' websites displayed error messages following the incident. A spokesperson for Hasbro stated, "While this is an unfortunate incident, Hasbro's business operations remain open." They also affirmed that swift action had been taken to safeguard systems and data.
Although the company has implemented workarounds to maintain order processing and shipping, these measures could be in place for several weeks, potentially causing some delivery delays. The full extent of the breach, including whether cyber-criminals are still active within Hasbro's systems or if customer data has been compromised, remains undisclosed at this time.
