A 21-year-old man from Ilkeston has been formally charged with multiple offences after a vehicle crashed through the wall of MFA Bowl in Derby Road, Ilkeston.
The incident, occurring shortly before 17:00 BST on Friday, involved two cars. One vehicle, a BMW, careened through the side of the bowling alley, traversing all 16 lanes before stopping at the far side of the building.
Derbyshire Police confirmed that three people sustained injuries in the collision. The charged individual faces accusations of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage – recklessly endangering life, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, and assault.
The suspect has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Derby Magistrates' Court on Monday.
Derby Road remained closed for five hours after the crash before being reopened to traffic. MFA Bowl announced on Saturday that the establishment would remain closed "until further notice" as a result of the extensive damage.
