James Desborough Receives Whole Life Order for London Homeless Shelter Murders

James Desborough, 26, has been handed a whole life order for the murders of two men in London. Desborough, described by prosecutors as a serial killer, pleaded guilty to the murders of 68-year-old John Hall and 57-year-old Gerald Morgan at a probation hostel in north-west London.

Police are now reviewing four other unexplained deaths at the shelter where Desborough stayed. Detectives are examining whether these deaths, which occurred between May 2021 and October 2022, could be linked to Desborough's activities. The victims' causes of death were initially attributed to natural causes, but new information has prompted a re-evaluation.

The court heard that Desborough had a history of violence and was known to carry knives. Both Hall and Morgan were found with multiple stab wounds. Desborough's barrister stated that he had expressed remorse for his actions during police interviews.
