Job Seekers Allege Company Demanded Thousands for Non-Existent Roles
Apurv Patel, a professional in his 40s, is one of several individuals who assert they were defrauded by a company promising job placements. Mr Patel, who sought opportunities in the UK after residing overseas, stated he paid thousands of pounds to the firm after being assured of securing a suitable position. Despite these payments and numerous promises, no job offer materialised from the company.
The alleged scheme involved an initial payment for securing interviews, followed by further demands for processing visas and other administrative fees. These charges collectively amounted to substantial financial losses for the complainants. The company reportedly ceased communication once the payments were made, leaving individuals like Mr Patel without employment and out of pocket.
Investigations into these claims are reportedly underway, with authorities examining the veracity of the company's operations and the legitimacy of the services it offered. The incidents highlight the vulnerability of job seekers, particularly those from abroad, to predatory practices by organisations exploiting their desire for employment and settlement in the UK.
