Kansas City Police Charge Two Men with England Squad Hotel Theft
Kansas City police have charged two men in connection with the theft of clothing and equipment from the England women's football squad's hotel. The items, valued at approximately $18,000, were stolen from the team's training base.
Samuel N. Scott, 25, and J stash N. Jackson, 22, were identified through surveillance footage. Scott faces charges of second-degree burglary and resisting arrest, while Jackson is charged with second-degree burglary.
Court documents allege that Scott was observed entering the hotel room of England's head of goalkeeping. Both men were later seen carrying bags out of the hotel. A subsequent police chase led to the recovery of some stolen items, though it remains unclear how much of the $18,000 worth of property was retrieved.
This incident occurred during England's preparations for the World Cup, highlighting vulnerabilities even for high-profile international teams. The quick identification and charging of suspects underscore local authorities' response to secure foreign delegations.
