
Man Arrested After Three-Year-Old Girl Found Deceased in Greater Manchester Property
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed the arrest of a man following the death of a three-year-old girl in Shaw, Oldham. Officers and paramedics were called to an address on Oldham Road at approximately 14:45 BST on Tuesday.
Upon arrival, emergency services found the young girl. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. A man, aged 39, was also found at the property with a serious injury. He was transported to hospital for treatment.
GMP stated that the 39-year-old man remains under arrest and will be taken into police custody once he is discharged from hospital. A cordon has been established around the property on Oldham Road as forensic investigations commence. Authorities have indicated that detectives are not actively seeking anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage.
Superintendent Phil Hutchinson described the event as a “tragic incident” and assured the community that a “full and thorough investigation” is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the child's death. GMP has urged anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
