Marie-France van Heel, often referred to as Frankie, is a marketing executive and the wife of Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham. The couple’s relationship began during their time as students at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where Burnham read English and Van Heel studied French and German.

Van Heel's professional background includes a significant tenure at the advertising agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, where she held a directorial position. Following this, she transitioned to ASOS, the online fashion retailer, and currently serves as the Global Marketing Director for digital platform The Business of Fashion.
