Medical Plane Carrying Six People Disappears Off Massachusetts Coast
A medical transport plane, carrying six people, including a patient, two pilots, and three medical staff, has disappeared off the coast of Massachusetts. Air traffic controllers lost communication with the aircraft after it experienced a notable loss of altitude.
The plane, a twin-engine fixed-wing aircraft, departed from an airport in Keene, New Hampshire, on Wednesday evening. Its intended destination was Long Island MacArthur Airport in Islip, New York. Official reports indicate that the final communication occurred approximately seven minutes before it was due to land.
Data from FlightAware, a flight tracking service, shows the plane descending rapidly before its signal ceased. The US Coast Guard has initiated a search operation focusing on an area south of Martha's Vineyard. Further details are expected as the search continues.
