Merseyside Police Launch Manhunt for Stephen Grzyb After Court Van Escape

Merseyside Police have initiated a comprehensive search operation following the escape of a prisoner, Stephen Grzyb, on Thursday afternoon. Grzyb, 22, absconded from a security van outside Liverpool Magistrates' Court on Dale Street.

Authorities confirmed Grzyb was in transit to the court after being formally charged with burglary. The incident occurred at approximately 15:40 BST, prompting an immediate response from law enforcement.

Grzyb is described as a white male, approximately 5ft 8in tall, with a medium build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark long-sleeved top and dark trousers. The public has been advised not to approach Grzyb directly but to contact police immediately with any information regarding his whereabouts. Officers have urged residents and businesses in the vicinity of Dale Street to review any private CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with the ongoing investigation.
