
Moses Edwards Charged with Arson at East London Central Synagogue Building
Moses Edwards, 45, from Wanstead, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following an incident at the East London Central Synagogue building in Whitechapel on 5 May.
Police and the London Fire Brigade responded to the scene at 05:16 BST. The fire caused limited damage to a gate and a lock at the front of the premises, with no injuries reported.
Mr. Edwards is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court. Counter Terrorism Policing London is leading the investigation into the attack.
A 52-year-old woman, arrested on 10 May in connection with the incident, has been released on bail until August. The former synagogue building is in the process of being sold to a local Somali Muslim organisation, according to police statements.
