Motorcyclist Dies After Falling from Isle of Wight Cliff into Sea

A man has died following a motorcycle incident on the Isle of Wight that resulted in him falling from a cliff into the sea. The casualty was recovered from the water and airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 13:40 BST near Freshwater Bay. The force stated the man was riding his motorcycle along the Military Road when the vehicle departed the carriageway, leading to him falling over the cliff edge.

Emergency services, including the Coastguard, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, and the police, responded to the scene. The individual was subsequently retrieved from the sea.

Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
